Innovation is a key driver for increasing productivity and sustaining long-term growth. Supporting innovation in established SMEs can foster inclusive growth by increasing productivity and reducing wage gaps between SMEs and large companies. Additionally, innovation in products and processes can help to improve productivity by lowering costs and improving the value of output and demonstrate the firm’s capacities for implementing change. As such, innovative firms tend to be better performers and are often better able to withstand negative shocks than those which are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation<\/a> (MISTI) is a leading government agency in implementing Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI). MISTI can support innovation in SMEs through effective institutional arrangements and policy frameworks by fostering a sound business environment, helping SMEs to develop and use their internal strategic resources effectively, improving access to finance to leverage innovative capabilities of individual firms, building innovative systems that promote strong collaboration and networking between firms, universities, and government agencies to maximize mutual benefits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
