EU, Germany launch business partnership facility

The EU and Germany have announced the official launch of the EU-Cambodia Business Partnership Facility, a programme aimed at promoting and enhancing Cambodia’s export capacity to European and other international markets.

The official launch event took place on June 2, under close cooperation between the EU in Cambodia, Germany, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

“Whether you’re looking to expand your processing, adopt modern practices or go global, the Partnership offers up to $50,000 in co-funding per project, along with expert guidance, tailored mentorship and access to innovation and export-readiness support,” explained an EU press release.

EU ambassador to Cambodia Igor Driesmans addressed the programme launch.

“We, the EU and Germany, are working together to unlock Cambodia’s untapped potential in agro-processing, food innovation and the export of high-quality, value-added products. We want to see more Cambodian products on European shelves, in European restaurants and featured in European food fairs — not just as commodities, but as symbols of quality, innovation and pride,” he told the attendees.

Gidon Windecker, deputy head of development cooperation at the German embassy, emphasised the importance of this partnership.

“Through technical expertise, compliance with international standards and business matchmaking, we’re building bridges that connect Cambodian and European enterprises, strengthening supply chains and integrating Cambodia into global markets,” he explained.

“The EU-Cambodia Business Partnership Facility is more than a funding program — it is a catalyst for transformation, innovation and sustainable growth. We invite all eligible Cambodian enterprises to seize this opportunity to elevate their business, contribute to national development, and connect with global markets,” said the press release.
