Phnom Penh, August 27, 2025 — The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) today organized a training program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Public Innovation. The opening ceremony was presided over by Minister Hem Vanndy, with participation from about 400 of MISTI’s management and officials attending in person and online.
The program is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of AI concepts and applications, foster a proactive mindset for applying AI in public services, and promote awareness of the ethical frameworks needed to ensure responsible use of the technology.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Vanndy, said, “As AI grows ever more capable of handling repetitive tasks, analyzing data, and extracting critical insights from big data, the indispensable role of human judgment remains clear—driving creativity, innovation, and strategic decision-making. Therefore, the development and thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence must align with our priorities, capabilities, and values to ensure this technology serves people and strengthen our capacity to achieve meaningful progress.”
