Phnom Penh, November 11, 2025 — The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) has organized a training course from November 11–13, 2025, to strengthen the capacity of technical officials responsible for factory, enterprise, and handicraft inspections.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-day training, H.E. Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State, emphasized that strengthening the capacity of technical officials requires regular training to close gaps in understanding of laws, regulations, and technical standards. “This includes practical training at factory, enterprise, and handicraft sites, especially in the context of rapid technological development,” he said.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has set a limit of one annual inspection for factories, enterprises, and handicrafts, requiring that these inspections be conducted jointly to reduce the burden on investors and improve the business environment.
H.E. Heng Sokkong, Secretary of State and Chair of MISTI’s Committee on Factories, Enterprises, and Handicraft Inspections, noted that in 2024, MISTI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) and the Ministry of Environment (MoE), inspected a total of 119 factories.
The joint inspections aim to ensure that factories, enterprises, and handicrafts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and technical standards through coordinated inspections across three key areas—industry, labour, and environment—enhancing efficiency and promoting sustainable industrial development.
