CBI-Food Program Inspires Young Innovators in Cambodia’s Food Industry

Phnom Penh, October 17, 2025 — The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) launched a training session under the Cambodia Business Incubator for Food Product Development (CBI-Food) program, bringing together student teams, MISTI officials from national and subnational levels, and industry experts from across the country to strengthen innovation in Cambodia’s food sector.

The CBI-Food program is a student competition designed to promote creativity in developing high-quality, safe, and marketable food products using local produce and ingredients.

H.E. Dr. Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State of MISTI, said, “This program helps build a new generation of food entrepreneurs who can turn ideas into real products that meet standards and contribute to Cambodia’s economic growth.”

Implemented under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation framework, the CBI-Food program aims to strengthen the food processing ecosystem, promote local product innovation, and inspire students to become future leaders in Cambodia’s growing food industry.
