Green Industry Awards 2025 Honors 21 Companies Contributing to Greening Cambodia’s Industry

Phnom Penh, December 11, 2025 — Twenty-one companies across Cambodia were recognized today at the Cambodian Green Industry Awards 2025 for their achievements in cleaner production, sustainability, and responsible industrial innovation.

The project selects companies that have made concrete progress in reducing environmental impact while improving efficiency and competitiveness. The initiative is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) and UNIDO, with support from the European Union through the UN PAGE programme.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Minister H.E. Hem Vanndy commended the awardees for embracing sustainability as a driver of long-term growth.

“Your achievements send a clear message that green production is not a cost, but an investment that brings savings, innovation, and competitiveness,” he said. “I encourage all companies to continue improving their systems, increasing resource efficiency, and learning from best practices—both at home and internationally—to build a cleaner, greener, and smarter industrial future for Cambodia.”

This year’s award cycle recognized 3 Gold, 11 Silver, and 7 Bronze winners. Companies were evaluated across four dimensions: environmental performance, innovation and sustainability, economic impact, and social and gender inclusion.

EU Ambassador Igor Driesmans praised Cambodia’s growing commitment to green industry, noting that sustainable practices are now essential for global competitiveness—especially with major markets like the European Union. “Industry drives economic growth, but it often generates waste that must be managed responsibly,” he said. “Embracing the green transition is key for Cambodia’s competitiveness, especially as global markets—including the EU—raise the bar on sustainability.”

Ambassador Driesmans highlighted that the EU’s Global Gateway strategy mobilized over €360 billion between 2021 and 2024 to support sustainable investment worldwide, including in infrastructure, water supply, and clean energy in Cambodia.

The Cambodia Green Industry Awards builds on the Low-Carbon Development for Productivity and Climate Change Mitigation through Environmentally Sound Technology Transfer (TEST) project, laying the foundation for long-term green industrial transformation.
