On 28th April 2022, a dissemination workshop has been organized at the Department of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Preah Sihanouk Province to further promote awareness of the ASEAN Access (https://www.aseanaccess.com/) and KhmerSME (https://www.khmersme.gov.kh/) websites and the guidelines of business registration access to the One-Roof-Service and online business registration for Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs.

This synergized outreach event between GIZ and UNESCAP aimed (1) to promote awareness of the two mentioned websites: ASEAN Access and KhmerSME to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises by guiding a detailed registration process with both web portals, implemented with the support of GIZ; and (2) to introduce the benefit of accessing the One-Roof-Service for Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs and collecting input for support women MSMEs policies, implemented by UNESCAP.

41 participants joined the event, including representatives from SMEs business owners in Preak Sihanouk, officers from the Ministry and Department of Industry Science Technology and Innovation (MISTI/DISTI) as well as from other relevant ministries, and business associations. Members of the Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs Association and the Cambodian Young Entrepreneurs Association are well informed about the benefits of ASEAN Access and KhmerSME websites and the detailed registration process with both websites, as well as the business registration procedure under the One-Roof-Service platform with MISTI.

The workshop was co-organized by the Ministry and Department of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs Association, Cambodian Young Entrepreneurs Association, UNESCAP and GIZ through the ASEAN-Germany Cooperation under the project “Strengthening Regional Structure for Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion in ASEAN” (ASEAN-SME). The next outreach event of ASEAN Access and KhmerSME will be conducted in May 2022 in Kratie Province.
